INFORMATICS AND INFORMATION SECURITY DEPARTMENT
The department was established in 2002 on the basis of the department of Informatics and Information Technologies on Railway Transport, now it offers preparation on two specialities:
- 090105 Integrated Information Security of Computer-Aided Systems
- 090106 Telecommunication Systems Information Security
The head of the department is honored worker of Science of Russian Federation, doctor of Engineering Science, professor A.A. Kornienko.
At the department work the leading specialists in the field of information security. They are professors, assistance professors, doctors and candidates of Science – M.A. Eremeev, A.A. Kornienko, N.F. Kostyanko, V.N. Kustov, G.N. Maltsev, E.T. Mironchikov, V.A. Yakovlev, N.V. Baidina, A.E. Bobrov, V.V. Glanchenko, N.V. Ivanova, K.N. Koida, V.A. Kulishkin, S.V. Podrezov, and A.V. Solodyannikov e.t.c.
In order to achieve high quality of specialists’ preparation in the area of information security, specialized teaching laboratories and computer classes with the most modern equipment were installed in the department:
- safe network technologies laboratory
- hardware/software methods and information security products laboratory
- technical methods and information security products laboratory
- production technique of protected infocommunication systems laboratory
- specialized computer classes of modern methods and programming methods
- specialized multimedia classes
On the base of the department of Federal Service for Technical and Export Control test information security requirements laboratory was given an accreditation, and students of the specialities (090105 and 090106) actively take part in the laboratory’s functioning. Members of the research group were awarded with Gold Medal of national branch prize “Security Promotion of Russia”.
